Organize in Your Own City
Councils weigh their own residents most heavily, so a group of three people from one city outweighs a hundred signatures from across the county.
What you'll need:
- A few neighbors who vote in the same city as you
- Your city's entry here, and the source it links to
- The council agenda and the public comment sign up rule
- A willingness to keep coming back after the first meeting
Getting started:
- Read your city's status and the record behind it
- Map the cameras you drive past on deflock.me
- Request the contract, the ALPR policy, and the audit logs from the city clerk under the Public Records Act
- Set an alpr.watch alert for your council agenda
- Speak at the meeting, then follow up in writing
